About Me
I live in the city – Los Angeles. Northern San Fernando Valley, to be more precise. I live approximately 27 miles from seemingly everywhere I want to go.
I am a native California, born and raised in Merced, about 20 miles north of the geographic center of California, in the San Joaquin Valley. I have a brother in Bakersfield and two sisters, one in Modesto and one in Suisun City on the eastern edge of the SF Bay Area – all of them are younger than me. My mom still lives in Merced; my dad died over 20 years ago.
I moved to the big city (actually the Bay Area) in the early ’80s and lived in various cities in the region.
I determined that a change of scenery would be in order and moved to take a job here in LA. So now I live in Canoga Park and work in Sylmar. My commute is about 20-25 minutes each way and for the first time in my career I have my own private office! Woohoo!
I make my living as a senior data programmer for a direct mail company – I’ve been in that industry for about 15 years now. We prefer to call our product ‘targeted marketing opportunities’ rather than ‘junk mail’. Our company does it all – we like to say that a tree goes in one end of the building and mail comes out the other end.
